Thank you for visiting our website; over 80 years as leaders in pharmacy teaching and innovation, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University is a comprehensive institution of higher education in Egypt. Our faculty is keen on working to achieve the primary goal of its mission to supply the community by highly qualified pharmacists capable of effectively exercising the profession of pharmacy and keeping pace with its constant evolutions. Faculty of pharmacy offers two well-structured five years pharmacy curricula namely the main stream program and the clinical pharmacy program. Both are fully accredited by National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). The main stream (general) program served thousands of students since its launching in 18/6/1955 and still inspiring many faculties of pharmacy in Egypt and the middle east with its highly recognized standards

The unit serves as the link between the faculty of pharmacy, Alexandria University and the pharmaceutical industry.

It contributes tothe continued development of the pharmaceutical industry, and the establishment of joint projects

with the pharmaceutical industry and centers of pharmaceutical research.
The unit provides the following pharmaceutical services to the various drug companiesnationally, and internationally:
• Stability studies.
• Solubility rate studies.
• Bio-equivalence exemption studies.
• Studies of the development and documentation of the credibility of the pharmaceutical products.
• Monitoring of the chemical, physical and microbiological studies.
• Conducting pharmaceutical studies aiming to solve the problems of the community.
• Analysis of biological and non-biological samples and providing research results.
• Enhancing the Egyptian medicine's ability to invade the global markets.
• Providing the help to researchers and post graduate students in the preparation of their research.

Pharmaceutical research complex:

The pharmaceutical research complex works on the improvement of the performance and the continuous development

of the skills of the Faculty graduates. The unit organizes workshops to help pharmacists cope with the requirements

of the pharmacy market locally and regionally.

The unit also helps solving the productivity problems in the pharmaceutical industry by conducting research and providing scientific consultations,

which eventually leads to an economic growth in Alexandria and all over Egypt.


The activities of the pharmaceutical research complex:
• The continuous education programs.

• Technical consulting to resolve the problems of the pharmaceutical industry.
• The organization of workshops for students and graduates to link the university to the community and the pharmaceutical industry.
• Helping to improve the education as well as the public service at the faculty.
• Strengthening the cultural and scientific ties with other universities and scientific communities in the Arab world and globally.
• Providing many pharmaceutical services in the fields of pharmacy, health care, pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical quality control

as well as the requirements of drug registration the drug locally and globally (house of experience for drug companies).
• Using scientific techniquesto increase the productivity and improve quality.
• Improving the professional performance and the development of the skills of those working in the different pharmaceutical sectors,

especially the pharmaceutical industry.
• Specialized workshopsto improve the professional performance.
• The organization of the job fair and participating in the environmental forum.

  • Department of community service and environmental development:

-       Develop plans for special purpose units to ensure benefit to the local community.

-       Develop the necessary executive programs to achieve the faculty’s goals in the environmental field.

  • Cultural Affairs:

-       Responsible for recording and documenting sabbatical leaves, scientific missions

and conferences attended by faculty members.

-       Follow the needs of the university for mission deployment, study leaves,

and follow up on the implementation of cultural agreements’ programs.

The Faculty hosts a paper as well as electronic library.

The paper library contains 7971 books and is divided into two sections: -

a section for students and another for faculty members. The library scientific reference

books are updated every year with a number of new and diverse references in all disciplines

of the faculty as well as the scientific periodicals in the professor’s library.

The library offers many services, such as the possibility to photocopy parts of the available books

at reasonable prices, as well as internal and external book borrowing. The book borrowing

service was recently updated with the installation of the bar code system to facilitate and regulate the process.

The digital library includes 30 computers connected to the Internet and it provides

a free browsing service for faculty members to access various periodicals and electronic books.

The library service is offered throughout the school year between 9am and 5pm and

between 9am and 2pm during summer and midyear vacations.
