Personalized Medicine

homepage section1Over the last few years, the field of pharmacogenomics (PGx) has seen significant technological advancements. The concept of “personalized medicine” became prominent towards the end of the last century, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right drug, for the right patient, in the right dose. This movement gained momentum with the publication of the Human Genome Project in 2001.

In Egypt and Lebanon, there are very few programs that utilize hybrid education methods, including IT and virtual laboratories. These innovative learning programs are designed to enhance the educational experience and extend its reach beyond the borders of Egypt and Lebanon, making it accessible to a wider audience.

The project is a two-year postgraduate program. The first year consists of a diploma program with 9 courses, divided into two modules totaling 60 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits, aimed at students from various educational backgrounds, including those with pharmaceutical and medicinal studies. The second year, which is optional, leads to a master’s degree. It includes hybrid courses worth 30 ECTS credits and a thesis also worth 30 ECTS credits. Both hybrid and traditional classroom courses will be offered, and the E- laboratories will simulate experiments that normally require costly equipment. This accredited program is a step towards broadening the scope of advanced education in Egypt and Lebanon.
