The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the students of the Scientific Society for Pharmacy Students (ASPSA), organized on Friday 4/11/2022 a sports marathon for walking and cycling under the title “Running for the Green” as part of the college and university’s preparations for the COP27 Climate Change Conference to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November 2022.
The marathon started in front of the Library of Alexandria at eight in the morning, with the participation of about 150 people, including the Dean of the College, Prof. Mervat Kassem and the faculty deputies and a group of faculty members, and students. At the end of the marathon, prizes and certificates of appreciation were handed out to the first three winners in both the walking and cycling competitions.

The Dean, Prof. Mervat Kassem said that the marathon aims to encourage students and employees of the college as one family to exercise for distinct physical and mental health, which will reflect positively on their academic performance.
Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that this marathon is part of a campaign adopted by the College of Pharmacy entitled "Go Green", which includes several activities within the framework of the state's orientations for sustainability in preserving the environment and combating climate change "Prepare for Green"
