Within the framework of the keenness of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, to consolidate the bonds of cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry community in Egypt, a cooperation protocol and a memorandum of understanding were signed between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Alexandria Company for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries, on Monday, March 20, 2023.
Signed by Dr. Mervat Kassem, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, and Dr. Mahmoud Hani Rizk, CEO and Managing Director of the company, in the presence of Prof. Sherif Rustom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Amal Al-Kamel, Chairman of the Pharmaceutics Department.
This cooperation comes in light of the keenness of the two parties to find an integrated system for training students, especially the new sixth-year students PharmD program. This is to support applied scientific research and link it directly to industry. Moreover, this would make the industrial sector to benefit from scientific competencies and research in the Faculty of Pharmacy in solving industrial challenges. Furthermore, this agreement would allow joint use of laboratory capabilities and laboratory equipment between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University and the Alexandria Company
