The Faculty of Pharmacy participated in a delegation from Alexandria University to attend the activities of the conference “Excellence in Scientific Research, the Future of Knowledge Production in Egypt,” which was held at the St. Regis Hotel in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday 8/8/2023.
The conference was held in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and the American Fulbright Commission in Egypt, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of the largest gathering of distinguished Egyptian scientists included in the international American Stanford list, and a group of heads of universities, centers, institutes, research bodies and higher education leaders, in implementation of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
Dr. Ayman Ashour has stressed in his speech the need to raise the number, quality of research and the benefit from its outputs, and to direct funded projects to serve the needs of society, praising the volume of scientific publishing in Egypt, which reached the 24th place in the world in the year 2023 according to Simago.
On the sidelines of the event, a workshop was held among the distinguished scientists on the Stanford list to put forward their proposals in various fields and scientific disciplines, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
