Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hanan El-Gowelli, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty organized on Tuesday, June 15, 2025, a workshop entitled:
“Introductory Training on Solid Waste Management: From Challenges to Opportunities”
The workshop was prepared and delivered by a team from Our Earth Climate Foundation for Sustainable Development, within the framework of the “Green Universities for a Better Future” project.
The session aimed to:
✔ Understand the negative impacts of waste on the environment and public health
✔ Highlight the importance of reducing and recycling waste
✔ Explore the environmental, economic, and social benefits of recycling
✔ Learn practical methods for waste segregation and identify recyclable materials
Participants also gained hands-on skills and were equipped with the knowledge to apply waste separation and recycling practices in their daily lives.
The workshop was attended by 30 faculty members, staff, and workers, who expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the valuable insights and practical guidance provided.
